Fire Emblem Engage relies on players using the assistance of the Emblem Rings to better their chances in combat. The various characters in the game must form friendships or bonds with these Emblem characters if they hope to use better skills, as well as weapons that these past heroes of the Fire Emblem franchise once wielded.

Besides this, players may also wish to bond with the Emblem Rings when attempting to gain experience in certain weapons if they hope to class their characters into a different role. Due to this, some players would want to level up their bond with an Emblem Ring quickly to return that ring to a different owner.
What Is A Bond Level
The Bond Level is the rating between the characters players are able to control, and the twelve Emblem Rings players can equip onto these units. Similar to how a player can improve the support level between two units, players can do a similar thing with the Emblem Rings that can actually have advantages during combat.
As mentioned, this Bond Level can not only allow the player to equip new skills onto a unit but also gives them the chance to swap the character's class into something entirely different due to unlocking access to other weapons.
Equipping Rings In Battle
One of the most straightforward ways to improve a unit's Bond with an Emblem Ring is by equipping that character with that ring for an entire battle. This can either be a main story chapter or by simply grinding Skirmishes as the unit will gradually form a bond with the Emblem Hero as they take down or damage foes together.
To speed up this process further, players should remember to always engage a unit with their ring whenever they have a chance, as using the special abilities attached to that Emblem Hero will quicken this bond between the two characters.
Practicing In The Arena
An even quicker way of improving this bond is through spending the in-game currency of Bond Fragments by putting a unit against an Emblem Hero in the Arena to better their skills with one another. Players can earn Bond Fragments in various ways, such as by achieving certain goals or talking to units at the end of a battle.

These can then be used to not only purchase the skills unlocked from the Emblem Rings but also to strengthen the bond between them. By entering the Arena, players can select what unit they wish to increase the bond with as well as the ring; then, they just need to select a level to which they wish to train. Each level of bond comes with its own advantages.
Cleaning Off The Grime Of The Rings
Another way to increase the Bond Level between a unit and a hero, although not as effective as other methods, is Polishing the rings that the Emblem Heroes call home. By using the power of the Emblem Rings in battle, the vessel they live in will gradually start to get dirty.
While this doesn't have any major effect on gameplay, taking the time to polish them is not only a nice break from the combat but also a simple way to spend time together. Players are able to select which unit will polish the ring, and it will increase their bond by a small fraction though this won't be to such an extreme amount that the rating will level up.
Don't Forget To Talk To The Emblem Rings
One of the most important things players should remember while playing Fire Emblem Engage is that at certain points of Bond Level, the Emblem Ring and the unit chosen won't be able to progress further. This may happen when approaching level five or ten of a Bond Level, and then the player must remember to allow the characters to talk inside the Somniel.
Another reason may be due to the player not completing the Paralogue connected to that Emblem Ring, as this unlocks Max Bond for that hero. These are gradually unlocked through the story, and therefore players may have to wait until the end game to truly strengthen their bonds.
