Lore[]
Rehabilitation Center[]
For the longest time, the Rehabilitation Center has remained an unnerving yet tranquil place, where the worst criminals of the Ark, human and Nikke, serve their sentences until release or expiration. Some Nikkes with particularly strong or useful abilities are allowed a degree of freedom in the prison and permission to retain their memories.
Unfortunately, some of these Nikkes have begun to develop their own power blocs within the prison. Blocs that, if they worked in tandem, could orchestrate the biggest jailbreak in the history of the Ark. In response, Deputy Chief Andersen has assigned the protagonist to rehabilitate the Nikkes leading the blocs and remove them from the prison complex, thereby decapitating the prisoners' leadership and restoring order.
Heretic Investigation[]
Following the failed operation to defeat Nihilister, Cecil makes a special device for the protagonist. Using the cores of high-intelligence Raptures, the device intercepts the orders transmitted from Heretics to such Raptures to notify the user if a Heretic is nearby.
As the protagonist looks over the tracker, Cecil advises him to consider trying to persuade the Heretics to fight for humanity instead of against it, a feat he has technically only accomplished once under special conditions, but he's willing to try anyway.
Gameplay[]
Liberation is accessed via the Elevator at the Outpost after clearing 5-20 of the campaign. After selecting a Nikke for rehabilitation, you will be assigned 3 free missions every day. Completing these missions earns points, which at certain milestones grants 50 Gems, and the targeted Nikke at 3600 points.
Daily missions can be shuffled or reset in exchange for 50 per mission. Up to 6 missions can be completed per day, including the 3 free ones. Thus, mission points can be acquired at an average rate of 60-180 per day, meaning it can take ~60-20 days to recruit a Liberation Nikke, with Gem cost being RNG-dependent. Missions are rated R-SSR, offering 10, 20, or 30 points based on level. The daily freebies will always have 1 mission of each level, but shuffled missions will be randomized in both level and content.
Mission Types[]
- Acquire 20/60/100 points from performing daily missions
- Perform 3/4/5 Dispatch tasks from the Outpost
- Clear 1/2/3 plays of Interception
- Perform 1/2/3 recruits of Nikkes
- Send Social Points to friends 5/10/15 times
- Receive Social Points from friends 5/10/15 times
- Clear Simulation Room 1 time (20P)
- Enhance equipment 1/2/3 times
- Advise Nikkes 1/2/3 times
- Perform Wipe Out 1/2 times (10/30P)
- Collect Outpost Defense rewards 1 time
- Gift Nikkes 1/2/3 times
- Purchase 1/2/3 items from the Common Shop
At any point, you may switch which Nikke is the rehabilitation target, but this will reset mission points with the currently selected Nikke. Liberation progress is retained when switching Nikkes (ex: If the player reaches Stage 3 with Sin, then switches, they will still be at Stage 3 when switching back to Sin). Daily missions will also be rotated when switching between Nikkes.
Character Story Episodes and Bond[]
Each Liberation Nikke has 5 episodes that act as a sort of build-up to that Nikke joining the protagonist, which replaces the standard Bond-based character stories of non-Liberation Nikkes.
Liberation Nikkes can still be Advised to raise Bond level and boost stats, but will not unlock any more character stories. The Nikke's character story tab will instead be filled with the episodes from their Liberation milestones.
Nikkes[]
First Liberation[]
- Guilty - A Nikke who was incarcerated for causing 40 friendly Nikke casualties with her bare hands. Her physical strength is unlike anything else.
- Sin - A Nikke with the power to manipulate and control people with words, incarcerated for enslaving people and inciting chaos. Her mask restricts her ability to talk, but a conversation with her is still risky.
- Quency - A Nikke who somehow always finds little gaps and nooks to sneak around and even out of any prison, incarcerated for smuggling and jailbreaking. Responsible for a good chunk of the center's smuggling problems, whether it be contraband or even inmates.
Second Liberation/Investigation[]
- Nihilister - Available after one Nikke has been liberated from the First Liberation and stage 20-31 of the campaign is cleared. A belligerent Heretic codenamed "Fire Dragon" for her flight-capable armor and infernal breath that can melt even steel.
