I thoroughly enjoy my time at Tennessee State University. The campus atmosphere is vibrant, and the sense of community among students is remarkable. However, I have encountered some challenges with certain professors whose teaching styles and engagement levels haven't met my expectations. Additionally, the housing situation leaves much to be desired, as the facilities and living conditions could be significantly improved. There’s also a very big shortage on housing arrangements as well. Despite these issues, one of the highlights of my college experience has been my involvement in the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi. The brotherhood, support, and opportunities for leadership and personal growth have made a profound impact in my life. Being part of Kappa Alpha Psi has provided me with lifelong friendships and a network of like-minded individuals who are committed to excellence and service.

The school needs to have a lot of work done on it. They need new buildings, they need new equipment, they need to get more teachers and administration that are there for the students just as much as they're there for themselves. They need to use their money more wisely and get more input from the students and the problems that they are having instead of assuming what the problems are. They need to make some tools like mental health care and tutoring more accessible and more known on campus. The school needs a lot of work done in general.

I’m writing this review in regards to Admissions because I now understand why black students do not have faith in HBCUs. I have been applying to be a Transient Student at TSU for 3 semesters in a row now and have not been able to contact or reach anyone in Admissions. I have constantly checked my emails as well as the Tiger Portal they say to check and there’s nothing there for me. I initially thought I wanted to attend TSU once I finished my 2-year degree but after all of the mess I’ve been dealing with with just applying to be Transient, I can only imagine the BS that will occur if I was a full time student. And I even went on a school campus tour but TSU is now out of my schools to transfer to.
