Training Outline[edit | edit source]
The following table summarizes the optimal experience methods for Necromancy. Undead are suggested for most tasks, because of various damage-boosting effects against them. At every 10th level, players should always complete Kili's task and craft the highest tier death guard and skull lantern that are available to them.

Perform 3 lesser necroplasm rituals for enough regular ink to make 14 lesser ensouled bars (for weapon upgrades up to level 50). Train via combat until level 20; afterwards, complete the Kili Row quest. Ensoul all 14 bars to prepare for future weapon upgrades. Continue training via combat until level 24 for the Rune Mythos quest. Afterwards, continue training via combat until level 60. Upgrade weapons every 10th level. |
| 60-90 | Rituals and Combat | Perform Lesser and greater necroplasm rituals to create a stock of regular and greater ink. Once you have regular and greater ink, necromancy potion/overload potion boost to level 66 necromancy in order to use the Multiply II glyph. Using multiple Multiply II glyphs, perform communion rituals until 4,500 souls. Afterwards, perform lesser ensoul and ensoul rituals until you have enough materials to upgrade to level 60 armour/weapons. Continue training via combat until level 65 for the The Spirit of War quest. Afterwards, continue training via combat until level 90. Upgrading your weapons every 10th level. Save the hermodic plates you obtain from Hermod, the Spirit of War and do not upgrade your armour past level 70 until you have reached at least level 90 Necromancy and can boost to 103. |

Once you have obtained the ink, necromancy potion/overload potion boost to level 103 necromancy in order to use the Multiply III glyph. Using multiple Multiply III glyphs, perform communion rituals until 35,000 souls. Perform greater ensoul rituals to convert your subjugation pieces into greater ensouled cloths while using multiple Multiply III glyphs, this will allow you to obtain 4 cloths for every 1 piece of subjugation armour (before level 99), and 5 cloths for every 1 piece (after level 99, using the Necromancy Cape perk as an additional Multiply glyph). Upgrade your armour to level 90 with your previously obtained hermodic plates. Continue training via Combat or Rituals. If performing Rituals, maintain at least 501% soul attraction on powerful rituals (no lower-tier rituals) for maximum XP |
Suggested Enemies for Combat Training[edit | edit source]
From level 5, players should train Necromancy in the troll cave located in the City of Um. The area features numerous low-level trolls, and serves as a good area to learn the skill and start unlocking further abilities. Focus on Area of Effect (AoE) abilities whenever possible.

It is possible to deal high damage to undead creatures through a combination of damage-boosting effects:
- Salve amulet (e)
- Aggression flask
- Ghost hunter equipment
- Undead Slayer perk on a piece of augmentable hybrid armour (e.g. Anima core of Sliske armour, High Armour of Hanto cuirass, or Akrisae's robe top)
Putting the monster's souls in the Sunken Pyramid is an effective way to kill the monsters with no player contention.

At level 70, player can go to the Abyss. It is recommended to take at least the following:
- Augmented T70 Necromancy gear
- Blood amulet of fury
- Magic notepaper or sign of porters for collecting ashes or Premier artefact's porter effect for 1 hour
Using T70 gear and blood amulet of fury, you shouldn't be in need of food, as the healing from the amulet is enough to keep you at max health for as long as you stay in the Abyss.
- Note: Equipping the Underworld Grimoire 1 will automatically send picked up ashes to the bank for you.
