Rosanna: Chic Ocean Analysis and Theorycraft | Nikke: Goddess of Victory (2024)

Note: This was made Before the release of Rosanna: Chic Ocean. A more detailed analysis and guide will be published once testing has been done after her release.

Overview

• Meta support just because of her burst debuff/buff, Sustain damage or not
• Competitive offensive/better buffs when compared to Blanc, without the need of a duo
• Decent DPS for a Support
• Helps Low-mid game players in Union Raid/Special Interception/Solo Raid by making parts easier to destroy. Useful against Chatterbox/ Alteisein and bosses of the sort
• Provides two different unique damage multipliers in one burst (Not ATK buff), making her an amazing damage buffer for future sustain damage type Nikkes.
• Needs to be paired with a healer as Rosanna does not provide any defensive utility or healing, which Burst II slots usually provide.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Rosanna is a great due to her burst. This is because she increases the damage taken by all enemies on screen. This is damage taken ▲ is technically a “damage multiplier”, different from ATK ▲. Stacking different buff/debuff sources leads to exponentially higher damage numbers.

Rosanna is more of an amazing buffer when paired with Sakura, this is due to having Sustain damage ▲on her burst as well. Similar to damage taken ▲, it is another damage multiplier. Stacking 3 different damage multipliers will yield very high numbers for Sakura: Summer Bloom.

Although, She is not quite a replacement/substitute for Blanc/Noir duo because of the lack of healing. Rosanna does offer a higher DPS ceiling on content where healing is not needed, this can apply to Union raid (Speed running), some select special interception stages (Alteisein, Chatterbox, Grave digger) and Campaign. Keep Blanc and Noir in your standard wishlist still!

Skill 1: Ferita

Activates when entering battle. Affects all allies
Damage to Parts ▲ 24.26% for 15 sec.
Activates when an ally or self destroys an enemy’s part. Affects all allies.
ATK ▲ 3% of caster’s ATK, stacks up to 5 time(s) and lasts for 30 sec.

A rather “Niche” Skill. The Commander can stall destroying parts (if limited) just to extend the ATK buff as long as possible, as refreshing buffs fully extend all stack durations. This is more important when pairing with her Bikini duo, Sakura: Bloom in Summer as Sakura loves ATK buffs.

Skill 2: Spinda di Rosa

Affects all allies.
Damage to Parts ▲ 24.26%for 15 sec.
Affects the enemy nearest to the crosshair.
Deals 70.4% of final ATK as sustained damage every I sec for 15 sec.

Once more, A niche skill. Although, her DoT does help her DPS a bit. Her DoT increases her total Damage by around 24%~ assuming Rosanna can’t core hit and there is a CDR on the team (Sustain damage buff uptime).

Unfortunately supporters don’t have the best damage, and this alone won’t make a very noticeable difference when comparing against DPS’s.

Burst: Onda Grande

Affects all allies.
Sustained Damage ▲ 20.32% for 10 sec.
Affects all enemies.
Damage Taken ▲ 32.23% for 10 sec.

Basically the make or break of the kit. her burst is GREAT, and is 20s, this alone makes her a top tier supporter.

Sustain damage is a new buff. This buff ONLY buffs damage sources that have the wording “as sustained damage” This buff is in the same bracket as ATK damage up ▲. For example:

Damage x (ATK damage up ▲ + Sustain Damage ▲) = Final Damage

This buff is also amazing for Sakura: Bloom in Summer just because this burst provides 2 different damage multipliers in one burst for her, and will be equally as good for future sustain damage Nikke’s.

Campaign

Rosanna: Chic Ocean Solidifies herself in the top 3 best campaign clearing teams, kicking Blanc/Noir out. This is due to Rosanna providing a similar debuff with a natural 20s cool down (not needing a duo).

This allows space for another DPS. Although there are still situations where the Commander will use Blanc/Noir over Rosanna, this is against Bronchus (Fart Raptures), mostly in base defense or defense missions. Usually healing is needed if Bronchus is in the spawn rotation.

Do Note that Rosanna: Ocean Chicc Only Applies Damage taken debuff in the CURRENT WAVE of enemies, the next enemies will not be debuffed and will receive normal damage. Make sure to burst with Rosanna when the targets of interest is on screen (Final Rapture, Elite Raptures).

Generalist Team (Bosses/W Sustain)

Team Buffs Sakura: Bloom in Summer enough to be comparable to Modernia’s Damage with core. Alice:Wonderland Bunny can be replaced with Rapunzel, Pepper (Manual), Naga or Marciana.

If Second attacker is not reliant on using a burst to deal damage, such as Scarlet or Modernia, Helm can be used for more offensive buffs.

Generalist Team (Campaign)

Basically just use your best 3 DPS’s when pairing with Rosanna. Healers can be used against Bronchus if needed.

Arena

Summer Rosanna doesn’t look that impressive at first glance.

Her most useful asset in PvP is her damage taken debuff, with values a bit lower than Blanc. This makes her better at buffing nukes than XAnne if your nuke has at least around a 140% Atk buff from other sources (other buffs, like Liter/RH burst, Scarlet self buff, Atk OL lines…).

However, the lack of Biscuit synergy and not buffing survivability relegates her to only being used when you’re running 2 or more nuke teams, and the SRosanna team depends on just the nuke, given that every B2 worth casting in PvP has at least some survivability baked in.

Maybe she’ll see some actual use in Champion Arena, but probably not much outside of that.

Special Interception | Solo Raid | Union Raid

Rosanna: Chicc is an amazing support for all PvE game modes. Her only downside is that she does not have built in survivability/defense utilities in her kit. Which isn’t usually an issue in late game Union Raid or some select special Intercepts. But in competitive Solo raid, healers are almost always needed if there isn’t any unique mechanics to abuse (I-frames, Part breaking, etc).

Special Interception

Almost half of the special interception does not need healing, and enables triple DPS teams while providing Blanc-like buffs. This parts her between second and third best burst II buffer in Special Interception, depending if there is a core (Tia/Naga Advantage) or not (Rosanna Advantage)

Solo Raid | Union Raid

Definitely team 5 material, and much cheaper than its competitor, the shotgun team. Rosanna team is much more flexible as well in regards to having missing Nikkes. While the shotgun team is extremely strict and needs all Nikkes to function competitively.

Shotgun team and Rosanna team should be somewhat on equal footing in neutral element content.

Closing thoughts

She’s definitely worth pulling just because of her thighs Burst. She functions as a side-grade of Blanc, being a more offensive buffer, which is useful in content that doesn’t need sustain, or speed running union raid content/Special interception.

However, if healing is needed, Rosanna can just be paired with a off-burst healer. Although it would be much more comfortable to use Blanc/Noir instead.
